  • All-season tires are a versatile jack-of-all-trades solution for most drivers, and for good reason. Premium all-season tires deliver long wear, low noise, capable handling, compliant ride quality, and year-round traction. It’s even better if your all-season tires are designed with an emphasis on impeccable road manners and the kind of quiet, refined ride you’d expect with a Grand Touring tire. That’s what you do get with the Ventus AS (RH07) from Hankook.

The Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) is packed with features and innovations that make it an excellent choice in a mid-priced tire for light trucks, SUVs and crossovers, but don’t just take our word for it – let’s go in for a closer look with this Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) review.

    Features and Benefits

Here are just a few of the features that make the Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) a standout performer and value:

    • The tire contact patch is computer-optimized for a “slightly rounded” shape that compensates for a wide range of inflation pressures, vehicle weights, and other factors
    • Six circumferential grooves help channel water away from the tire’s contact patch to resist hydroplaning as well as aiding in heat dissipation
    • Open shoulder and stepped groove walls work as a system with circumferential and angled grooves for improved traction in wet or wintry weather
    • A densely packed network of sipes multiplies the tire’s surface area for traction and adds hundreds of extra edges to slice through snow and slush
    • Advanced tread formulation is designed for long, even wear and enhanced traction on wet or dry pavement
    • Backed by a 65,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
    • The tread pitch is randomized and computer-tuned to suppress certain frequencies and resonances, keeping road noise low
    • Stiffer shoulder blocks are designed to resist the inertia of cornering and hard maneuvers

    Pros and Cons

So, is this Hankook tire the right choice for your ride and budget? Before you decide, let’s take a look at the tire’s strengths and weaknesses.

    PROS:

    • Road manners are secure and stable on the highway
    • Ride quality is composed
    • Braking traction is good with short braking distances on wet or dry roads
    • Handling is competent and predictable, if not exactly nimble

    CONS:

    • Not good in deeper snow
    • Some drivers report excessive noise on some road surfaces
    • Some drivers report sluggish steering response

SimpleTire’s view on Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) tires

Hankook is one of the premier tire manufacturers in South Korea, and we’ve always been pretty impressed with just about every tire from the Hankook product line. The Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) is a tire that’s designed around the weight, handling properties, ride quality, power, and torque of today’s SUVs and crossovers. The Ventus AS (RH07) delivers cornering and steering responses that are precise and direct without ever being overly sensitive or jumpy, and its braking performance is sharp and secure for peace of mind. Ride quality is forgiving and noise levels are low, despite what some drivers report. Even on irregular surfaces, the Ventus AS (RH07) keeps its composure without getting jittery or transmitting roughness and vibration to the passengers and driver. Road manners and driver feedback on the highway are along the lines of what you’d expect from a Grand Touring tire, for a ride that’s stable and serene without constant correction from the driver.

No, the Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) doesn’t have the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certification for severe winter service and doesn’t perform well in deeper snow, but that’s not really what it’s designed for. With its 65,000 mile warranty, what the Hankook Ventus AS (RH07) does deliver is long wear, year-round traction, and a quiet, comfortable ride. It’s a tire that punches far above its weight class and compares favorably to SUV/crossover tires that cost far more, making it a great value as a replacement tire or upgrade.

2008 Honda CR-V Ex - L The absolute worst tire I have ever owned. The good news is you will not have them long. Do not bother rotating them, have the car aligned or checking air pressure because it will not make a difference with this tire. You will hydroplane, the car will handle like a brick and do not even think about going out in the snow. And noise....THIS IS THE NOISIEST TIRE YOU WILL EVER OWN. I mean turn the radio up all the way and you can still here the tires. I was thrilled when at 12,000mi they needed to be replaced,

The tires arrived sooner than I expected. They handle the wet roads better than the Goodyear tires I had previously. Got one star for winter traction because I HAD to put a rating even though we don't have much winter here. Haven't had tires long enough to rate the traction.

Have had these tires for about a month. The ride is great and not noisy at all. I had Pirelli Scorpion before which had starting making a lot of noise. Also compared to the Pirelli Scorpion, the rolling resistance is noticeably less----if I let the SUV roll in neutral --- it goes noticeably farther now as compared to with the Pirelli Scorpion

First 10K was good and then they started to get noisy and only got worse. I did manage to get 40K out of these but yo have to put up with the noise.
