For most drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers, all-season tires just make the most sense. A good set of all-season tires means capable handling, a quiet and refined ride, year-round traction even in light snow, generous treadwear coverage, and road manners that are responsive and direct without being overly sensitive.
The average vehicle age on the road in the United States is 14 years. For drivers driving older, depreciated vehicles, spending several hundred dollars on a set of premium all-season tires often makes no sense. Fortunately, there are now quite a few affordable all-season tires that can deliver value and performance that compare well to that of top-tier brand tires. The Mastercraft A/S IV is a tire that checks those boxes and offers admirable value and performance at a surprisingly affordable price. But don’t just take our word for it about this tire – let’s go in for a closer look with this product line review:
Features and Benefits
Here are just a few of the features that make the Mastercraft A/S IV a strong prospect for your vehicle:
- The advanced tread compound is formulated for long, even wear and dependable traction in wet or dry weather
- All-season tread design with a combination of circumferential and angled grooves to evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch and resist hydroplaning
- Deep 10/32” tread depth
- The tread void is wider toward the tread’s center, then becomes narrower toward the shoulder grooves for enhanced cornering ability
- M+S rated for mud/snow traction
- 40,000 mile manufacturer’s treadwear warranty
- Tread blocks and pitch are randomized and computer-tuned to help neutralize certain frequencies and resonances, keeping road noise to a minimum
- A network of sipes multiplies the tire’s surface area and traction with hundreds of thin biting edges to slice through snow, slush, standing water
Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Generous treadwear coverage
- M+S rated
- A dense network of sipes
CONS:
- Not good in heavier snow
- Not good in offroad conditions
SimpleTire’s view on Mastercraft A/S IV tires
Mastercraft is a wholly-owned brand from Cooper, one of America’s oldest and most respected tire manufacturers, and Cooper leverages their experience and prowess into Mastercraft tires. The Mastercraft A/S IV is a great value in an affordable all-season tire, with a tread pattern designed for capable and predictable handling and year-round traction. The innovative void design, with wider grooves toward the tread’s center and narrower toward the shoulder, gives the Mastercraft A/S IV more responsive driver feedback and improved cornering ability. Straight-line stability and road manners are solid and secure, making this a great tire for long hours on the interstate.
A 40,000 mile manufacturer’s warranty for a tire at this price point is fairly unusual, and the contact patch of the Mastercraft A/S IV is redesigned and optimized to be square and flatter. Putting more rubber in contact with the road means improved braking performance and handling and even uniform treadwear properties. If you’re on a budget and looking for a great set of all-season tires with strong treadwear warranty coverage, you can’t go wrong with the Mastercraft A/S IV.

First off a great company to deal with. Tires were delivered quickly, priced right, and look great. I only rated the three categories, because I only drive the car in nice weather, and haven't put that many miles on them. I would recommend, and buy again. Thanks
Simpletire has been great to do business with, always great service, and quick to ship.
These tires are superb! They really grip the road. I drive in New York City and have been using them in the snow with no problems. I love these tires! The shipping was lightning fast and Simple Tire has the best prices for the quality! I have no idea what they mean by approximate tire mileage or I would have answered that question. I bought four tires and they are Mastercraft A/S IV - P235/75R15 - K, part number 06315.
A good quality tire! I ordered white-walls which are hard to find these days it was for an older Buick from the 1980's. Excellent service! On-time, courteous customer service! Within a few days 4-5 I received the tires, in excellent shape! I will order again from Simple Tire for my other vehicles!
